This is where you can see some other type of projects which are also made by ArrowGlass. Projects visible here are some more elaborate or bigger things accompanied by a short explanation.
Keyblade, Oathkeeper, Kingdom Hearts. This proved to be a challenging project. The entire piece is one solid object hanging (with some space in between) on a wooden panel covered in wall paint and small rough materials to provide texture. The Keyblade is removable from the panel, but needs to be held with both hands to do so (weight needs to be distributed somewhat evenly). The varied colours of glass provide a lovely backdop image as light passes through the glass.
Wine barrel with table top. For this rustique wine barrel I made a circular glass surface with legs and handels. The slight elevation allows for small/thin objects to be displayed under the glass. The handels make it easy to change and clean the display.
Bathing in water clear as Glass. This was my entry piece for the “Lang Live Rembrandt” project of the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. Unfortunately it was not chosen to progress in the contest, but I remain happy with the end result. It is a testament that shows saturated colours are not always necessary to provide an atmospheric glass piece. This work was based on a painting by Rembrandt named “A woman bathing in a stream”. Wedding ring box. For a wedding I had the honer of designing and creating the box which held the rings. (the rings you see in this picture are not the actual rings which were used during the ceremony). The box is constructed from clear glass so the moss and the rings are clearly visible. The lid is a bevel which gives the box special finish. The box also has four small tin knobs for feet.
Ceremonial wedding gifts with a Game Of Thrones theme. These commemorative gifts made in different shades of blue (the wedding theme colour), are all handmade keychains in the shape of dragon scales. On the glass are engraved by hand the initials of the newly wed. The piece was finished with a card. With these commemorative gifts I made a window showing an engraved dragon on which the shapes and colours of the theme were represented once more.
Custom frames. In order to provide a little more unity to different documents I made three picture frames to display them.
Bar for the community centre of Space-s (Strijp-S) in Eindhoven After some deliberation by multiple groups, we (me and my partner) designed and created this bar. We coated scaffolding in clear laquer and used this for the base. After adding angle profiles which we blackened with wax. I made three windows with a specially designed pattern, which we backlit with LED-lighting.
Built-in Stained Glass Window. In collaboration with the owner I turned this door into a translucent door with a classical stained glass design.
Side Table. The wood for this side table I finished with a varnish. The Glass part consists of two layers. The bottom layer is a Tiffany window, whereas the top layer is a single piece of clear glass which can easily be removed (for cleaning).
B & B ’s-Hertogenbosch. For a B & B in ‘s-Hertogenbosch I was provided old and damaged stained glass windows which I cleaned and repurposed into a design to be placed across the top room of the complex. The coloured pieces are sampled from the colours in the painted glass (pigment burned in via over). The result is a colourful and slick design.
